Pursuing Justice For Victims Of Elder Abuse

Protecting the rights of the abused and vulnerable is what I do. Our elders are especially vulnerable and need the utmost care and attention. Victims of elder abuse can and should seek compensation for their physical and psychological injuries, should abuse occur.

During my two decades of experience running Steven J. Sherlag, P.C., I have developed a reputation for my zealous advocacy and unwavering pursuit of justice for my clients in civil litigation matters.

Elder Abuse Is A Serious And Tragic Problem. That Is Why I Fight To End It.

In order to end the catastrophic abuse that occurs to our elders, I thoroughly consider the circumstances surrounding the abuse, identify and gather evidence such as witness statements, and examine all medical records. I also work tirelessly with medical and psychological specialists to build a strong case on your, or your loved one’s, behalf. I will then aggressively pursue the full compensation to which victims of elder abuse are entitled.

Elder abuse is generally defined as financial, emotional, physical or sexual harm caused to a person over age 65. It is a serious problem across the nation and is taken very seriously by the Oregon legislature. Under Oregon law, a victim of elder abuse can recover triple the combined amount of economic damages, emotional distress, and pain and suffering, in addition to attorneys’ fees. An elder abuse claim may be filed by the victim, his or her guardian or caretaker, or a family member.
